Do You Know What Factors That Could Cause Dental Problems And How To Have A Healthy Tooth?
Go and see any dentists, and the common advise that they will give is to brush our teeth after every meals, especially if we are enjoying sweet foods. Bacteria will grow in- between our teeth (especially where food leftover stuck in between) and this can cause tooth decay and gum erosion. Your doctor will advise you to brush your teeth (and floss) at least twice a day, or after every meal.

Lack of cleaning our mouth will not only damage the teeth but also could cause sensitive teeth problem. Globally, one out of three people already had sensitive teeth problem. Survey showed that, more women are experiencing this problem.
Apart from taking sweet foods, a few more things you should know to protect and prolong the life of this asset where there is no replacement for this:
Sour Foods – It has the same effects as taking sweet foods. Sour foods that have low pH levels may soften the tooth.
Acid in the sour foods dissolve or erode the enamel layer and eventually it could cause the dentin layer become thinner. When this happens, we will have the problem of sensitive teeth.
Without intensive care, it can be prolonged to the problem of dental caries (tooth decay and cavities) Studies on sour sweets showed that it has a very low pH, similar to battery acid. It will give worse effect on children’s teeth as the enamel layer of their teeth had not matured.
Hard or Solid Foods. Despite the strong layer of enamel, it could be easily damaged either by acid erosion (from food or stomach acid) or a little break when biting hard foods, such as ice or Corn which is not fluffy.
Dentin layer can also be eroded when brushing your teeth roughly, or if your gum decreases. Cold food or drinks will contaminate the dentin layer that provides the stimulus to the tooth root and this will cause pain.
Gum Disease and Tooth Decay- Each of us had been bestowed with two sets of teeth i.e. early teeth and permanent teeth. The loss of early teeth will be replaced with permanent teeth, but the rip-off the permanent teeth will not be replaced. This is why tooth treatment should commence since childhood until the end of our life. The main cause of tooth loss is due to the gum disease and tooth decay (dental cavities). While there are many ways to replace the missing teeth, it is costly. The most inexpensive way to get healthy and beautiful teeth is to brush and floss your teeth every day and see your dentist twice a year
Use too much fluoride toothpaste – No doubt it is important to maintain the teeth healthiness but too much toothpaste containing fluoride will makes the teeth surface to have a white or brown spots. This hard spots could not be removed. At the same time excessive fluoride can cause the teeth to become porous.
Tooth Braces can cause cavities – If using the bracket teeth, give more attention when brushing your teeth so that no food gets stuck in between the brackets. Food, bacteria and acid that had stocked to the bracket will slowly erode the enamel. This could cause the formation of hole in the bracket that holds the teeth.
In addition to the brushing, floss and use mouthwash to kill bacteria in the mouth, it is also recommended to take some kind of food which is said to help improve the teeth healthiness. These foods include fruits and fresh vegetables, food with less salt and sugar, fish, legumes and foods rich in fiber, including oats and a full meal bread.
Although dried fruits contain a lot of nutrients, it is also contains more sugar which could easily stuck between the teeth. Fresh fruit (even sour) is preferable as during the process of chewing, it stimulates the production of more saliva that contains enzymes amylase.
This saliva will clean the food debris and reduces the acidity in the mouth. Fruits such as apple are known as the natural toothbrush as it stimulates saliva production, thereby reducing the possibility of accumulation of bacteria which could cause cavities.
