Nashville, TN, United States (CNS) – Carrie Underwood announced that she would be performing at this year’s CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The country superstar made the announcement by phoning a 15-year-old fan.
The fan, Riley Ahlstrand, had sent an e-mail to CMA saying, “My dream is to meet Carrie Underwood, and the CMA Music Festival is my absolute favorite thing. I want more than anything for Carrie Underwood to appear at CMA Music Festival this year. Thank you so much for everything that you do, and for putting on such a spectacular week June 10-13! This truly is the ultimate fan experience.”
Underwoood made her wish come true by letting her know personally that she’d be performing, as camera crews for Nasvhille ABC affiliate WKRN interviewed the fan and phoned reporter Brad Schmitt to give fan Riley the news, which left the 15-year-old in tears.
“This is the best thing that has ever happened,” Ahlstrand said. “I couldn’t have dreamed anything cooler than this!”
“I always look forward to the excitement of CMA Music Festival,” Underwood said following the call. “Its fans like Riley that make the week so much fun.”
Underwood will be performing at the Nashville music festival, which hosts major live concerts, autograph signings, activities and more over its four days. This year’s CMA’s take places Thursday through Sunday, June 10th through the 13th.
Underwood is the first artist set for the 2010 CMA Music Festival. More talent is set to be announced over the coming weeks. Tickets for the festival are already on sale.
